Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 8 oz Linguine Pasta Alternatively, use fettuccine or penne.
For the Beef
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20) Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
For the Garlic Butter Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter Use olive oil for a lighter version.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Fresh garlic is recommended.
  • 1 medium Yellow Onion Substitute with shallots or leeks if desired.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Half-and-half or whole milk can be used.
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese Freshly grated is best; Pecorino Romano is a good alternative.
  • 2 tsp Italian Seasoning Use fresh herbs for added freshness.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes Optional for spiciness.
For Garnish
  • to taste Fresh Parsley or Thyme Optional, for freshness and color.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Cook the linguine in a large pot of salted boiling water for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and diced onion, sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook for 6-8 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Lower the heat and stir in heavy cream, letting it simmer. Add Parmesan cheese and optional red pepper flakes, mixing until the cheese melts and sauce thickens.
  5. Toss the drained linguine in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water gradually for desired consistency.
  6. Serve topped with fresh herbs and additional Parmesan if desired.
