Ingredients
  

For the Steak and Potatoes
  • 2 pounds Sirloin Steak Chicken or pork can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 large Onion Use yellow or red onions interchangeably.
  • 3 cups Potatoes Russet or Yukon gold work best.
For the Toppings and Seasoning
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese Can substitute with mozzarella.
  • 2 cups Beef Broth Vegetable broth can be used for a lighter twist.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce Soy sauce can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cubing the sirloin steak into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Washing and dicing the potatoes into similarly sized chunks.
  3. Finely chopping the onion.
Layering
  1. Layer half of the diced potatoes in the crockpot.
  2. Add half of the cubed steak followed by half of the chopped onions.
Seasoning
  1. Sprinkle each layer with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Repeat Layers
  1. Add the remaining potatoes, steak, and onions, seasoning again as before.
Adding Liquids
  1. Pour beef broth over the layers and drizzle Worcestershire sauce on top.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
Adding Cheese
  1. 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle cheddar cheese over the dish.
