Step-by-Step Instructions for Chocolate Banana Bread
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, ½ cup of cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, ½ teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Mash 3 ripe bananas in a separate bowl until smooth.
  4. In the bowl with the mashed bananas, mix in ½ cup melted butter, ½ cup brown sugar, ¼ cup granulated sugar, 2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips and ½ cup chopped pecans into the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle with reserved chocolate chips and pecans, and bake for 55-65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
