Method
 

Cupcake Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine chocolate cake mix, eggs, water or milk, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth, pour into cupcake liners, and bake for 18 minutes.
  2. Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
Frosting Preparation
  1. In a bowl, beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until fluffy.
  2. Divide frosting into three bowls for coloring.
Coloring the Frosting
  1. Use Wilton food coloring to tint the frosting: mix colors to achieve desired shades.
Decorating the Cupcakes
  1. Fill decorating bags with colored frosting and pipe swirls onto cooled cupcakes.
  2. Start with red, add green, and finish with white frosting.
Setting the Frosting
  1. Allow frosted cupcakes to set. Refrigerate overnight for enhanced flavor.
