Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing gently until combined.
  6. Fold in the mini chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the coating.
  8. Scoop portions of the dough and roll them into balls, coating each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  9. Place the dough balls on prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart, and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
