Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and ground cinnamon.
- Beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the egg and eggnog to the creamed mixture and beat until fully combined, about 1 minute.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix on low speed until just combined.
- Drop rounded balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- In a clean bowl, beat together the cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, and additional eggnog until smooth.
- Once cooled, frost the cookies with the cream cheese frosting and consider decorating with extra nutmeg.
