Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add ½ lb of ground beef and cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: Add a diced onion to the skillet with the beef and sauté for 4 minutes until translucent. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Create Sauce: Mix in 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, then sprinkle with 0.25 cup of flour. Gradually pour in 2 cups of beef broth, stirring constantly for 8-10 minutes.
  4. Prepare Dumpling Dough: In a bowl, whisk together 1 cup of flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Add 2 tablespoons of softened butter and mix until crumbly, then pour in 0.5 cup of milk.
  5. Combine Dumplings and Beef: Drop heaping tablespoons of dumpling dough onto the simmering beef mixture, cover, and reduce heat to low.
