Beef and Gravy
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Ground turkey or chicken can be used.
  • 2 cups Beef Broth Vegetable broth can be swapped for vegetarian version.
  • 1 medium Onion Leeks or shallots can be used as alternatives.
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch Flour can be used but adjust for thickening.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks, boil in salted water for 7-8 minutes until fork-tender, then mash with butter, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned, break apart with a spoon, then drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion to the skillet and sauté for 5 minutes, then add beef broth and seasonings; simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Mix cornstarch with broth to create a slurry, add to skillet, stir, and bring to a boil to thicken the gravy.
  5. Serve mashed potatoes topped with the beef and gravy.
