Ingredients

For the Skillet Dish
  • 1 pound Ground Beef can be swapped with ground turkey
  • 4 cups Green Cabbage chopped; Napa cabbage works well as a substitute
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce use tamari for gluten-free
  • 2 teaspoons Minced Garlic fresh is best for flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Minced Ginger ginger paste can be used if fresh is unavailable
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar or Keto Sweetener for low-carb, opt for keto sweetener
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil olive oil can substitute if necessary
  • 4 tablespoons Chopped Green Onions for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional
For Serving
  • 4 cups Cauliflower Rice to complement the dish

Equipment

  • Large skillet

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat and keep skillet on heat.
  2. Add Aromatics: Stir in minced garlic and minced ginger. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant, ensuring not to burn the garlic.
  3. Prepare Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Pour over cooked beef and mix well.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Fold in chopped cabbage with the beef and sauce. Toss until the cabbage is coated and starts to wilt.
  5. Sauté Cabbage: Cover skillet and cook cabbage for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender yet slightly crunchy.
  6. Finish and Serve: Remove lid, adjust seasonings, garnish with green onions and optional red pepper flakes. Serve hot over cauliflower rice.
