Cooking Instructions
- Begin by heating a large skillet over medium-high heat for 2 minutes. Add 1 pound of lean ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the beef is browned and no longer pink.
- Once the beef is browned, drain any excess fat if necessary. Lower the heat slightly and add 3 cloves of minced garlic, 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger, and, if desired, 1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and golden.
- Pour in 1/4 cup of low-sodium soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Stir everything together until the beef is evenly coated with the sauce. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes, letting the sauce thicken slightly.
- Spoon the savory beef mixture over 2 cups of warm cooked jasmine rice. Garnish with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
