- Preheat your oven according to the Devil’s Food cake mix package instructions. Prepare cake mix as directed, pour batter into greased baking pan, and bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Once the cake is cool, slice it into small squares while it’s still warm to help absorption of sweetened condensed milk. Set aside on a large plate.
- Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake squares, coat well, and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
- In a trifle bowl, start layering with one-third of the soaked cake squares for a solid base.
- Spread one-third of the whipped cream on top of the cake layer, drizzle caramel syrup, and sprinkle Heath English toffee bits.
- Repeat the layering process until you use all ingredients, ending with whipped cream and a sprinkle of toffee bits.
- Sprinkle crushed Heath bars over the whipped cream for added flavor and crunch.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight before serving.
